Upperton has forged a number of strategic alliances with key companies to both extend and enhance the range of services and capabilities that we can offer to our customers.
Aesica Pharmaceuticals Ltd
In 2008 Upperton signed an ongoing strategic partnership agreement with R5 Pharmaceuticals (now part of Aesica Pharmaceuticals Ltd) to enable us to extend our spray drying capabilities to include
cGMP manufacture.
The alliance between the two companies (who are within walking distance of each other) means that Upperton can now offer an integrated approach to pharmaceutical development from formulation to
manufacture in the Aesica cGMP facility.
Novozymes Biopharma
In 2007 Upperton and Novozymes Biopharma announced a new collaboration agreement in which the two companies would work together to develop new and improved drug delivery systems based on Novozymes' proprietary recombinant protein molecules.
The initial outcome of this collaboration has been the development of a novel, patented process that can be used to create precisely-sized nanoparticles from recombinant proteins, peptides, antibodies and other molecules.
