Upperton Acquires New Research Facilities

Upperton Limited has acquired access to research and development facilities, based at the University of Nottingham, UK

14th FEBRUARY 2000

Nottingham, UK -- Upperton, a newly-created research and development company specialising in the development of contrast agents for in vivo diagnostic imaging, has reached agreement with academics at the University of Nottingham to access research facilities.

This development is a major step forward for the emerging company and provides Upperton with all the facilities needed to develop products from concept through to early-stage clinical testing.

Founder and chief executive, Dr Richard Johnson, was particularly delighted in this new development. Formerly a founding Director of Andaris Limited, Dr Johnson sees the emerging Upperton as an ideal vehicle from which to exploit a number of novel, exciting product opportunities.

Upperton is exploiting its proprietary microsphere and nanosphere technology to create a new generation of novel contrast agents for the diagnosis of disease in humans. These contrast agents will enable existing imaging modalities to detect and diagnose disease at a much earlier stage than can be achieved by imaging machines alone.

To best exploit its technology, Upperton is seeking to collaborate with a select number of established diagnostic imaging companies.
