Upperton
Receives Government Funding for Research into Nuclear
Imaging Products
It
has been announced that the UK government is to fund
a research programme investigating the use of recombinant
albumin in a number of applications in nuclear imaging.

Nottingham,
UK: A UK government LINK award has been obtained to
fund a unique commercial/academic collaboration investigating
potential applications for recombinant human albumin
in nuclear imaging. The government grant is issued by
the UK Department of Health under the MedLINK programme.
This
unique collaboration involves three parties: Upperton
Limited (Nottingham, UK) who specialise in the development
of novel imaging agents; Delta Biotechnology (Nottingham,
UK) who manufacture recombinant human albumin and the
Academic Medical Physics Department at the University
of Nottingham.
The
research programme is scheduled for 2 years and is investigating
a number of exciting opportunities including lung scintigraphy,
lymph node imaging and disease-targeted products.
Upperton's
Founding Director, Dr Richard Johnson, was delighted
to receive confirmation of the successful application
saying "This exciting programme has been in the pipeline
for several years. With the help of a significant UK
government grant we can unlock the potential of a number
of potential product applications in the coming months"
