Upperton
Acquires Extensive Patent Portfolio
Upperton
Limited announces the signing of an agreement with Quadrant
Healthcare, thereby obtaining an exclusive right to
exploit Quadrant's proprietary microparticle technologies
in the field of diagnostic imaging.

Nottingham,
UK -- Upperton Limited, an emerging research and development
company, has successfully completed the acquisition
of a significant intellectual property portfolio from
drug delivery company, Quadrant Healthcare.
The
agreement between the two companies consists of a combination
of patent licences and assignments and gives Upperton
an exclusive position to exploit related patents belonging
to Quadrant Healthcare in the diagnostic imaging field.
Founding
Director, Dr Richard Johnson, was delighted at the successful
conclusion of negotiations. The extensive technology
portfolio offers a number of exciting opportunities,
particularly in the most rapidly growing sectors of
MRI and Ultrasound Contrast Imaging. A number of key
projects have been identified by Upperton and work in
these areas will now proceed rapidly.
Upperton
is currently in the process of establishing a number
of research programmes at its Nottingham laboratories
and is now actively seeking research partners to join
in exploiting this exciting technology.
