Analytical Capabilities

Underpinning our formulation development service is the ability to use a range of analytical skills to guide formulation development.

 

During the initial stages of our studies we use a range of analytical tests to optimise formulation in terms of its physical properties, formulation stability and release kinetics. All of these factors impact heavily on the eventual success of the drug formulation

Our analytical capabilities include the following:

  • Solubility/Dissolution testing (API, drug formulation)
  • HPLC (size exclusion, reverse phase)
  • Physical properties of crystalline / amorphous materials: SEM, XRPD, DSC
  • Residual solvent analysis (aqueous and organic solvents)
  • Stability testing
  • Particle Size Analysis (Sympatec Laser Sizing)
  • Powder flow properties (bulk/tap density)
  • Aerodynamic properties (Andersen, MSLI)
